To further promote its mission, Can Do Multiple Sclerosis (“Can Do MS”) has adopted the following policies. Please note that “Participants” refers universally to anyone who may utilize any of Can Do MS’s in-person or online programs, resources, services, or media outlets (collectively, “Platforms”), including website/social media visitors and program applicants and registrants.

Adaptations Policy

Can Do MS is committed to ensuring that everyone can participate and access its Platforms by providing reasonable accommodations to those who request them.  

The Can Do MS website contains an embedded Accessibility Widget to help those with visual impairments.  Any questions about the functionality of the Widget should be addressed directly to Userway®, Inc.  Can Do MS offers closed captioning capabilities on its webinar archives. Any questions about closed captioning should be addressed directly to Youtube®, Inc.

In-person accommodation requests should be made in writing to at least one week prior to the program date.  Please be specific with your request. 

In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, Can Do MS reserves the right to provide alternative accommodation suggestions if a request is inaccessible or unfeasible. 

Can Do MS cannot provide physical assistance at programs, including transfers and restroom assistance.  If you require these services, Participants must bring a support partner or caregiver to provide such assistance. 

Communications Policy

As part of its Terms of Use, all program applicants and registrants provide express consent and opt-in to receive email, phone calls, texts and/or mail from Can Do MS to inform Participant of additional programs, resources, and connection opportunities.  Communications are provided for the convenience of Participants.

If you wish to opt-out from receiving communications from Can Do MS, submit an email to with your name and the specific channels you wish to opt-out from.  Can Do MS will take reasonable efforts to promptly honor opt-out requests.

Educational Intent and Indemnification Policy

Although Platform content is based on the expert opinions of Can Do MS Programs Consultants, such information does not represent recommendations, advice, diagnosis, prescriptions, or anything that can be interpreted as creating a provider-patient relationship.  Platform content is not meant to be a substitute for instruction provided by a doctor or other qualified healthcare professional.  Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified healthcare provider with any questions you have regarding your health or medical care.

Intellectual Property Policy

All content presented by Can Do MS on its Platforms is the sole property of Can Do MS and offered for personal educational use only.  Any dissemination or repurposing of content requires the express consent of Can Do MS.

Liability Policy

Per its Terms of Use, Participants, by accessing any Platform, agree to indemnify and hold Can Do MS and its staff, agents, and third-party contractors harmless for any injuries or damages that may occur during a program or event, including any potential injuries that may later allegedly result from referenced exercises, approaches, or information.   Platform content should never be interpreted as recommendations or endorsements of any specific product, procedure, company, opinion, or approach.  Reliance on any Platform content is solely at your own risk.   Always consult your healthcare team. 

Privacy Policy

Collection of Personal and Demographic Information

When applying/registering for a program, Can Do MS collects certain Personal Informational (e.g., electronic and physical addresses, telephone numbers) and Demographic Information (e.g., date of birth, date of MS diagnosis, type of MS, race, gender), which is stored in the Can Do MS database and used for future communications and to help Can Do MS analyze Platform uses and audiences.   

Personal Information is not used for commercial purposes and Can Do MS does not share any email addresses or phone numbers with any third-parties, including program partners.

Demographic Information is collected in order for Can Do MS to better understand the MS community and promote programs/resources that best meets the needs of Participants.  Can Do MS may share Demographic Information with program partners.

Can Do MS will take all commercially reasonable steps to protect Personal and Demographic Information on its databases and servers. To correct or restrict the use of Personal or Demographic Information, Participants may send a detailed request to

Collection or Use of Information

Can Do MS and its third-party service providers may use technologies that collect certain usage information when you visit or interact with online Platforms, including the Can Do MS website and social media outlets (“Use Information”).  Can Do MS may collect Use Information, such as anonymous usage statistics, by using cookies, server logs, and other similar technology. To help evaluate usage of Platforms and effectiveness of marketing, the server places a "cookie" - a small text file with an identification number - on your machine or Device. Disabling or refusing cookies may impact Platform functionality.   Can Do MS does not sell or distribute Use Information or engage in “behavioral advertising.”  However, Can Do MS is not responsible for the data collection or targeted ads by Platform service providers or third-party links accessed through Platforms.

California Civil Code Section § 1798.83 permits California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties regarding certain marketing activities.  To make such a request, please send an e-mail to  Please note in the subject line or in your letter request that it is a California Privacy Rights Request.   If your request is applicable, you will receive a summary of your information disclosures by email within 30 business days.

Social Media Policy

Can Do MS has several active online communities, including Facebook®, Twitter®, Instagram® and YouTube®.   The content provided by Can Do MS on these channels is provided solely for the convenience of Participants. Can Do MS does not endorse the opinions or recommendations referenced in online content or comments.  Participants are encouraged to carefully research all opinions shared online and consult with your healthcare team.

By accessing, viewing, and/or posting any content on a Can Do MS online community, Participants agree to the following:

  • Can Do MS online communities exist as a place of open and respectful sharing.  Participants will refrain from posting comments that are harmful, vulgar or inappropriate; overtly negative, disruptive, or argumentative; unnecessarily repetitive (spam or flooding); or infringing on others rights, including intellectual property rights.
  • Participants will refrain from posting any advertisements or promotions or any opinions that can be construed as professional advice. 
  • Participants take full responsibility for their online safety and are encouraged to never share personally identifiable information.
  • In order to prevent the appearance of conflict of interest, Participants will refrain from positively or negatively commenting on specific companies and organizations, including, but not limited to, pharmaceutical companies, healthcare providers, and other advocacy organizations.
  • Participants grant Can Do MS a world-wide, royalty-free license to reproduce, distribute, publicly display, create derivative works of, and otherwise use, modify, and exploit user content for any purpose.
  • Participants may link to any Platform, provided the link does not suggest any form of association, approval, or endorsement by Can Do MS or its affiliates.
  • Can Do MS reserves the right to remove any comments that, in its opinion, does not represent the mission, values, policies, or best interests of Can Do MS.       

Promotions Policies

In order to increase the reach and impact of its Platforms, Can Do MS contracts with various entities (“Sponsoring Entity”) to provide sponsorship at programs/events and advertisements on its Platforms (collectively “Promotions”).  Can Do Multiple Sclerosis does not endorse or promote any Sponsoring Entity or related product/service.  Promotions related to a sponsoring entity is provided solely for the convenience of Participants and does imply any affiliation.

 All Promotions must be substantially related, as defined by the Internal Revenue Service, to the mission of Can Do MS and comply with all relevant laws and regulations.  Can Do MS reserves the right to unilaterally review and approve all Promotions and reject or remove any Promotion that does not represent the mission, values, policies, or best interests of Can Do MS.

Pharmaceutical Conflict of Interest Waiver

Pharmaceutical companies support the enhancement of medical knowledge and quality of life.  In turn, Can Do MS recognizes the importance of learning about disease modifying therapies as part of comprehensive management strategies. Therefore, for the convenience of Participants, pharmaceutical companies may sponsor Can Do MS Platforms, including programs.  All Platforms are independently organized by Can Do MS and all content  is determined solely by Can Do MS and its Programs Consultants without any input or influence by a Sponsoring Entity.  Can Do MS, its Programs Consultants, and other affiliates comply with all transparency and conflict of interest laws. 

As part of its sponsorship package, employees of pharmaceutical companies may act as exhibitors at programs.  Exhibitors are offered solely for the convenience and education of Participants.  Exhibitors shall comply with the Can Do MS Exhibition Guidelines, including avoiding solicitation or appearance of endorsement.
